Creating a contextual policy assignment allows you to apply granular data usage caps (in MB) for users based on group, country, and region.

Requirements
  • Jamf Protect's internet content filtering and usage controls enabled on devices

  • Relevant groups added on the Devices > Manage page

  • Configured domestic and roaming policies

  1. In Jamf Security Cloud, navigate to Policies > Internet > Contextual Policy.
  2. Click Create New.
    1. Select your platform.
    2. Add a name and description to Advanced Policy Information for the specific per-country cap to help you identify the caps.
  3. On the Assignment tab, under Mandatory, add the groups to which this rule applies.
  4. Under Advanced Policy Assignment, set the criteria that need to be met for the per-country cap to be applied to a mobile device.

For example, you can assign the country, or countries, to which you want to set a per-country cap.

  5. On the Policy tab, configure the specific pieces of policy that you want to be different from the group policy, such as a specific data cap that should apply.

Anything that remains unchanged here is inherited from the respective device group policy.

  6. Click Save.
  7. On the Manage Advanced Policies overview, change the priority of the policies.

When a device visits a configured country, it is assigned the specific cap threshold.

You can view the specific cap thresholds for a device's country and the results of the policies that you apply on the Reports > Internet > Caps page.
