Setting Notifications for an Out-of-Date OS

Note:

Only activated devices will receive these notifications.

  1. In Jamf Security Cloud, navigate to Policies > Security > Threat Prevention, then scroll down to the Device list.
  2. Set the Out-of-Date OS alert to Active.
  3. Click the Settings icon in the Alerts column for the Out-of-Date OS alert, and then specify the notifications you require:

    • User notifications

    • Admin notifications

    • Admin summary notifications
      Note:

      Select the email frequency in the Admin Summary Email Notifications drop-down at the top of the Threat Prevention tab.

  4. Specify the number of days after a new OS release to notify the user to update their device in the Set Out-of-Date OS User Notification field.
    Note:

    The default is 14 days after a new OS has been released.

  5. Click Save in the top-right corner of the page.
