Responding to a Vulnerable App Notification

If you receive an email notification informing you of a vulnerable app, or if you see a vulnerable app when checking the Threat View or Device View pages, you should take steps to secure the affected devices.

  1. Notify the affected users that they must update their device to the latest version of the app, if available.
  2. If the app is vulnerable and there is no new version currently available, you can either:

    • Notify the user that they must uninstall the app.

    • Uninstall the non-compliant app using your UEM solution.

  3. If the app is deemed not to be a risk, in Jamf Security Cloud, navigate to Policies > Security > Threat Prevention and use the Exceptions and Ignored tabs to create the necessary rules.
  4. Click Save.
