Downloading the Jamf Protect Package and Plans for Deployment

You can manually download plan configuration profiles (.mobileconfig) and the latest Jamf Protect PKG for deployment via an MDM solution.

Requirements

You must have at least one plan configured in Jamf Protect.

  1. Download each plan you want to upload to your MDM solution by doing the following:
    1. In Jamf Protect, click Plans.
    2. On the Plans page, click the name of the plan you want to download.
    3. On the plan details page, click Download profile and choose one of the following download types:
      • Default download —Includes the default configuration profile payload settings and certificates in the downloaded plan configuration profile.
      • Custom download —Allows you to choose which configuration profile payload settings and certificates to include in the downloaded plan configuration profile.
  2. Download the latest Jamf Protect PKG by doing the following:
    1. In Jamf Protect, click Administrative > Downloads.
    2. Click the download link in the Agent Download section.
      Note:

      If you want to automate obtaining the current installer or uninstaller PKG, the Generate Download URL feature provides a URL to the current Jamf Protect PKG without requiring authentication into the Jamf Protect portal or API.

      The URL contains a unique security identifier specific to your Jamf Protect tenant, which can be rotated if necessary.

  3. Upload your plan configuration profile to your MDM solution and configure the scope.
  4. Upload the Jamf Protect PKG to your MDM solution.
  5. Create a policy that deploys the Jamf Protect PKG to target computers.

The Jamf Protect PKG and plan configuration profiles are deployed to computers the next time they check in with your MDM solution.

Note:

The Root CA may appear as untrusted on computers when installed via a plan configuration profile.
