Jamf Protect device controls allow you to prevent the use of removable storage devices to mitigate accidental data loss and unauthorized access. To restrict removable devices you must configure a removable storage control set to restrict access to certain devices. Devices being restricted are often USB hard drives or disk drives.
Removable storage control sets allow you to configure specific override settings to allow only certain devices, such as encrypted devices or devices with a specific vendor ID. When configuring overrides, you can add criteria individually, or you can upload a CSV file. You can also export your override settings as a CSV file if necessary. The removable storage control set is selected and deployed in the relevant Jamf Protect plan.
