Change Freeze enables an organization to gain additional control and limit the risk of unintended changes to user computers in their environment.
Jamf Protect administrators can enable a change freeze to temporarily restrict updates to the Jamf Protect agent and its configuration. While a change freeze is active, users will have limited write access to Jamf Protect features.
The following Jamf Protect features and actions will be restricted when a change freeze is enabled:
-
Jamf Protect users and administrators will be restricted to read-only access, with limited exceptions. For more information about exceptions to an active change freeze, see Exceptions to Enabling Change Freeze.
-
Changes to user roles, permissions, and groups will be prohibited.
Important:Users cannot be created or removed, and existing user permissions cannot be modified.
-
The Jamf Protect agent will be locked to the version current at the time the freeze is enabled. An active change freeze applies to all agent installer and uninstaller downloads, as well as automatic agent updates.
-
Changes Jamf Protect makes to analytics, including additions and deletions, will be deferred.
You can enable change freeze from your Administrative > Account dashboard.
