A known issue in Jamf Pro causes a computer's macOS version to be reported inconsistently, affecting smart group and advanced search membership. The macOS version could be reported as a two-part version (e.g., 13.3) or a three-part version (e.g., 13.3.0), depending on the source of the inventory data. This inconsistency can cause computers to be temporarily added or removed from smart groups and advanced searches unexpectedly.
In an upcoming release, Jamf Pro will report the macOS version consistently as a two-part version when patch versions are not expressed in the version reported from macOS (e.g., 13.3). Jamf Pro will continue to correctly report three-part patch versions as expected. Review and update any smart group or advanced search criteria that use a three-part macOS version format to ensure continued accuracy after the fix is applied.
