The option to automatically deploy Self Service+ from Jamf Pro will be made available on a regional basis in environments with Jamf Pro 11.17.1 or later. When it becomes available in your region, you will see the option in Jamf Pro.
Jamf Pro enables administrators to automatically deploy Self Service+ to enrolled computers by setting Self Service+ as the default end user application for macOS. Self Service+ provides a streamlined user experience that combines standard Self Service functions with other Jamf platform capabilities, including Jamf Connect's account management tools and Jamf Protect's dashboard showing a device's security status.
When you set Self Service+ as the default end user application, the following changes will apply to all enrolled computers that have macOS 13 or later:
Self Service+ is installed on managed computers the next time they check in with Jamf Pro.
Self Service+ is installed on computers as they are newly enrolled.
Computers automatically receive Self Service+ updates.
If present on the computer, Self Service classic is uninstalled.
Devices that do not meet Self Service+ requirements will continue to use Self Service classic.
To enable Self Service+ automatic deployment from Jamf Pro, navigate to , and then select Use Self Service+ as the default end user application.
Self Service+ follows a different release schedule than Jamf Pro. For more information, see the Self Service+ for macOS Release Notes.
Jamf recommends reviewing the "Further Considerations" section of the About Self Service+ page in the Self Service+ for macOS Deployment Guide to see if Self Service+ meets the needs of your end users before enabling it as the default application. When this option is enabled, all enrolled computers with macOS 13 or later will use Self Service+, and it will not be possible to run both Self Service+ and Self Service classic on the same computer. If some users rely on features that are not yet supported in Self Service+, Jamf recommends Deploying Self Service+ to End User Devices Using a Policy as an alternative to automatic deployment.
