Updating the activation code in Jamf Pro is primarily cosmetic, allowing you to see the most up-to-date license count. Activation codes are applied across all regions by 4:00 a.m. CT on the renewal date. If you have a valid subscription, there is no service interruption during the activation code transition period, even if there is a gap between the code's expiration and the availability of the new code.

For Jamf Pro 11.9.1 or later hosted in Jamf Cloud, the activation code is applied automatically when the Jamf Pro instance reaches its renewal date. No action is required.

For Jamf Pro 11.9.0 or earlier, and on-premise environments, you must manually update the activation code. Click the sync button in Jamf Account or copy the code to manually paste in Jamf Pro.
Note:

Using the sync option requires a Jamf Account team member with Administrator privileges.

  1. In Jamf Pro, click Settings in the sidebar.
  2. In the System section, click Activation code .
  3. Click Edit .
  4. Enter the new activation code.
  5. Click Save .
