You can set up new instances of Jamf Pro from Jamf Account.

Requirements
  • A valid unused Jamf Pro license to create a new Jamf Pro instance.

  • A valid Jamf ID. To create a Jamf ID, go to: Jamf Account.

  1. Log in to Jamf Account.
  2. In the sidebar, click Solutions.

If the sidebar does not display Solutions, contact your Account team for assistance.

  3. If prompted, review and accept Jamf's Software Licenses and Service Agreement (SLASA).
  4. In the Subscribed products section, under Jamf Pro, click View details.
  5. Click the Instances tab.
  6. Click the Jamf Pro instance you want to create.
  7. In the Onboard New Instance popover pane, select the Jamf Pro instance you want to create.
    Note:

You may also set up other available products at this time. Doing so does not affect Jamf Pro setup, but it does set the tenant name of each instance to match the others being created (recommended in most cases). If you want different tenant names for your other instances, leave them deselected for this workflow and set them up separately.

  8. Enter your desired instance name in the Desired Instance Name field.

A dynamic preview of each URL about to be created displays as you type. Ensure these URLs look the way you want before proceeding, as they cannot be changed later.

  9. Click the Set Tenant Name button.
All selected instances are queued for creation. This process typically takes about 20 minutes. Your new Jamf Pro instance will not be accessible until the process completes. If you are still unable to reach your Jamf Pro instance after an hour, contact Jamf Support.
Best Practice:

Creating a Standard Administrator Account for Jamf Pro

New instances of Jamf Pro have OIDC-based SSO with Jamf Account enabled by default. The user who created the Jamf Pro instance can use their Jamf ID to log in to Jamf Pro for the first time, and then create subsequent users. Jamf recommends creating at least one standard (local) administrator account early in your setup. This ensures you have access to the Jamf Pro failover URL if you ever need to log in outside of SSO — for example, during an SSO misconfiguration or an identity provider outage. For instructions, see Jamf Pro User Accounts and Groups in the Jamf Pro Documentation.
