You can make the following items available in Jamf Self Service for iOS for users to install on their devices:
  • Configuration profiles

  • App Store apps

  • In-house apps

  • eBooks

It is up to you to determine which items are appropriate for Self Service.

To make a configuration profile, app, or book available in Self Service, choose "Make Available in Self Service" from the Distribution Method pop-up menu when configuring it in Jamf Pro.

You can customize how items available in Self Service are displayed to users. The following table shows the customization options for each item:

Customize the Self Service Display Name

You can customize the name for the item that displays in Self Service.
Note:

If this field is left blank, the item name you entered on the General payload displays in Self Service.

Customize the action button

You can customize the name for the button that users click to initiate the item (e.g., "Install").

Customize the secondary action button

You can customize the name for the button that users click to initiate the item again (e.g., "Reinstall").

Customize the item description

You can enter a description that users can view to get more information.

Upload an icon

You can upload an icon to display for the item. It is recommended that you use a file with the GIF or PNG format that is 512 x 512 pixels.

In environments that have the Cloud Services connection enabled, your Self Service instance is automatically connected to the Icon Service, and new Self Service icons uploaded to Self Service are stored in the cloud-based Icon Service rather than in your database. This results in improved database performance and reduced memory usage.

If you have an on-premise environment, you must safelist the following URLs:
  • For the Icon Service: https://ics.services.jamfcloud.com

  • For uploading icons to the Icon Service: https://icon-staging-production-use1-ics-application.s3.amazonaws.com

You can configure an item to display in the "Featured" category in Self Service.
