When you deploy software update plans with managed software updates, it is important to maintain visibility over the progress of the update and the various events that are taking place on the computer or mobile device. A plan is defined as a singular request to update a computer or mobile device to a particular version. After you deploy a plan with managed software updates, you can view and track these events by viewing the event store. You can only view the event store for computers or mobile devices that have received an update command from managed software updates.

Note:

The managed software updates event store is only available for macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS devices.

  1. In Jamf Pro, click Computers or Devices in the sidebar.
  2. Enter one or more search terms and press the Enter key or click Search to find all computers or mobile devices.
  3. Click the computer or mobile device you want to view managed software update information for.
  4. Click the Management tab, and then click the Operating System category.

You can view plan information for in progress updates on this page, including which update action was selected, the current state of the plan, workflow details, and any errors that have occurred during installation.

  5. To view the event store for an update, click View event store.
