When you enable the Apple education support setting, Jamf Pro generates an EDU profile that is installed on an iPad or computer when the device is added to a class in Jamf Pro for use with Apple's Classroom app. The EDU profile configures the device with user and class information. Requirements

Apple's Classroom app distributed to teacher iPads or computers in your environment. To distribute the Classroom app with Jamf Pro, see Apps Purchased in Volume.

Note:

When assigning a student or teacher to a computer in Jamf Pro, you must ensure that the username in Jamf Pro matches the username of the MDM-enabled user on the computer. For more information about enabling MDM for users, see MDM-Enabled Local User Accounts. In addition, see the Managing User Approved MDM with Jamf Pro article.

  1. In Jamf Pro, click Settings in the sidebar.
  2. In the Global section, click Apple education support .
  3. Click Edit .
  4. Select the Enable Apple education support checkbox.
  5. Click Save .

Jamf Pro generates an EDU Profile that is installed on devices when they are added to a class in Jamf Pro.

iPads that are enrolled with Jamf Pro using a PreStage enrollment that have Shared iPad enabled are enabled as Shared iPad for use with Apple's Classroom app when they are added to a class in Jamf Pro.
