- Managed Apple Account Sessions
Users may sign in with their Managed Apple Account and password. If using federated accounts in Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager, users will be prompted to create a Shared iPad passcode that will be used on all Shared iPad devices from that point forward. This passcode may be reset from their account in Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager.
When signed in, the iPad will be heavily restricted. Jamf recommends using configuration profiles to enforce settings or adjust the order of the apps onscreen.
To log out, users must press the power button to lock the device, wake up the device, and then tap the Sign Out button in the lower-right corner of the Lock Screen.
Session data is backed up to the user's iCloud account and kept private and secure from other users on the device.
If a user signs in to a new iPad, their most recent session data will be downloaded to that new iPad.
Note:Depending on backup size and network strength, the first login on a new iPad may take some time.
- Temporary Sessions
Users may sign in by tapping the Guest button in the lower-right corner of the login screen.
Every time a user logs in using a guest account, they initiate a new iPad session.
To log out, users must press the power button to lock the device, wake up the device, and then tap the Sign Out button in the lower-right corner of the Lock Screen.
Session data is deleted upon logout.
