Users must open a Google application to authenticate their device before they can register. If a user attempts to register before authenticating, Google will have duplicate device records.
When a user registers a device with Google in the Self Service app from a mobile device, they are guided through the steps:
The user opens a context-aware application such as Gmail and is shown an error message. The user does not initially have access, but a device record is created with Google.
The user opens the Self Service application.
The user taps Compliance under the Browse section on the home screen.
The user taps Register. Self Service syncs the device record with Google. The Google sign-in screen appears.
The user signs in with their Google credentials.
The user taps Continue.
The user taps Allow to allow Jamf to see device details on Google.
The user taps Ok. The user has access to first and third party applications.
