PreStage enrollments allow you to enforce a minimum macOS version that a computer must have before the computer enrolls with Jamf Pro. If a computer does not have the macOS version you specified in Jamf Pro, the user is prompted to update the operating system on the computer before Setup Assistant continues during Automated Device Enrollment.
Keep the following in mind:
If the Apple Software Update Lookup Service determines the enrolling computer is ineligible for the selected update version, the device will continue enrollment without requiring the update.
Software updates will fail during Setup Assistant on versions of macOS 14 if an incompatible version is selected from the Minimum macOS version to enforce pop-up menu. Workaround: Choose , , or from the Minimum required macOS version pop-up menu. These options allow Jamf Pro to query Apple's update servers for eligibility during enrollment.
Computers in the PreStage enrollment with macOS 14.4 or later
Users are prompted to update to a version of macOS during Automated Device Enrollment based on the options selected.
