Apple Watch devices must be new or reset. If you have an existing paired Apple Watch, the Apple Watch must be reset before it can be enrolled with Jamf Pro.
- A smart device group that contains only supervised iPhone devices with iOS 17 or laterNote:
If the smart device group is deleted, the watchOS configuration will be removed from the host iPhone.
- In Jamf Pro, click Devices in the sidebar.
- Click Smart Device Groups in the sidebar.
- Select the target group.
- Click the Automated Management tab.
- Click the Apple Watch enrollment pane.
- Select the Allow Apple Watch enrollment checkbox.
The user opens the Apple Watch app on their iPhone, then taps Pair New Watch. During pairing, the user is prompted on the Apple Watch to allow remote management. The host iPhone sends the Apple Watch an enrollment profile to initiate enrollment with Jamf Pro. The MDM profile is installed on the Apple Watch after the user taps Allow Remote Management.
After enrollment, the Apple Watch is supervised and managed by Jamf Pro alongside the host iPhone.
You can view inventory information for the Apple Watch after it is enrolled. Navigate to the inventory record for either the Apple Watch or the host iPhone, and then click the Paired Devices category.
