You can manually enroll a mobile device with Jamf Pro using Apple Configurator by either generating an enrollment URL or creating an enrollment profile. Both methods involve connecting the mobile device to a computer via USB.
Apple Configurator can also add compatible iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS devices to Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager.
Where possible, use Apple Configurator to add compatible devices to Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager instead of using Apple Configurator for manual enrollment. After devices are added to Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager, you can enroll them with Jamf Pro using Automated Device Enrollment and automatically re-enroll them anytime the devices are erased.
If you must use Apple Configurator to manually enroll devices with Jamf Pro, Jamf recommends using enrollment URLs instead of enrollment profiles. Enrollment URLs provide a more streamlined approach when preparing devices with Apple Configurator.
