You can use a configuration profile with the Login Window payload to place a custom message on the login window of computers in your environment.

  1. In Jamf Pro, click Computers in the sidebar.
  2. Click Configuration Profiles in the sidebar.
  3. Click New .
  4. Use the General payload to configure basic settings for the profile, including the level at which to apply the profile and the distribution method.
  5. Click the Login Window payload and click Configure.
  6. Enter your login window message in the Banner field.
    Note:

You can use variables such as $SERIALNUMBER or $COMPUTERNAME in the Banner field. This is particularly useful if you are using payload variables as asset tags. To use variables in a configuration profile, the corresponding inventory field must be filled in with the appropriate data. For more information on using payload variables in computer configuration profiles, see Payload Variables for Configuration Profiles.

  7. Click the Scope tab, and then configure the target devices or device groups.
  8. Click Save .

The profile is distributed and the login window message is displayed above the login prompt on the computers in scope.
