Management capabilities are available in Jamf Pro for Apple Watch devices with watchOS 10 or later that are paired with a supervised iPhone with iOS 17 or later. The enrollment process begins with the end user's iPhone using Apple's declarative device management.
When an Apple Watch is paired with a supervised iPhone and enrolled in Jamf Pro, the Apple Watch becomes supervised. You can then apply some of the same management capabilities to the Apple Watch as the paired iPhone. For example, if you have a passcode enforcement policy for the iPhone, the paired Apple Watch will prompt the user to create a passcode.
Jamf Pro does not currently support installing, removing, or updating Apple Watch apps.
Keep the following in mind:
If the MDM profile is removed from the Apple Watch, the Apple Watch is unpaired from the host iPhone and all contents and settings are erased from the Apple Watch. The host iPhone is not affected.
If the MDM profile is removed from the host iPhone, the host iPhone and the paired Apple Watch will both become unmanaged. All contents and settings are erased from the Apple Watch only.
