Adding Multiple Devices to a Building or Department

You can add multiple computers or mobile devices to a building or department in Jamf Pro by performing a mass action.

Requirements

At least one building or department created in Jamf Pro

  1. In Jamf Pro, click Computers or Devices in the sidebar.
  2. Do one of the following:
    1. View a smart or static computer or mobile device group membership list. For more information, see Viewing Smart Group Memberships or Viewing Static Group Memberships.
    2. Perform a simple or advanced computer or mobile device search.

      For more information on computer searches, see Simple Computer Searches or Advanced Computer Searches.

      For more information on mobile device searches, see Simple Mobile Device Searches or Advanced Mobile Device Searches.

      Note:

      You can only perform mass actions from a simple mobile device search if you searched by devices.

  3. Click Action.
  4. Select Edit the Building and Department and then click Next.
  5. Use Department and Building pop-up menus to add the selected group of computers or mobile devices to a building and a department as needed.
  6. Click Next.
  7. A confirmation screen appears. To exit the confirmation page, click Done.
