You can use Jamf Parent to restrict device functionality on your child's school-issued device by restricting apps by category, such as social media, games, or shopping, or you can restrict built-in apps, such as Camera or Safari.

  1. Tap the parent and child button in the upper-left corner and tap the avatar of the child's device you want to apply app restrictions to.
  2. Next to Restrictions, tap the + button.
    Note:

If you have not previously set any restrictions, you can also tap Add first restriction.

  3. Under App Categories, tap the + button next to each app category you want to restrict. All other app categories will be allowed.
  4. Under Device Functionality, tap the + button next to each built-in app you want to restrict. All other built-in apps will be allowed.
  5. Tap Apply in the upper-right corner.

The Restrictions settings are applied to the child's device. If a child's device is offline, the settings will be applied the next time the device is online.

To remove Restrictions settings, tap the button next to the app categories and built-in apps you want to remove or tap Clear all to remove all applied Restrictions settings at once.
