You can use Jamf Parent to choose which specific apps your child can use on their school-issued device for a set duration of time.

  1. Tap the parent and child button in the upper-left corner and tap the avatar of the child's device you want to configure allowed apps for.
  2. Next to Allowed apps, tap the + button.
    Note:

If you have not previously added any apps to allow, you can also tap Add first app to allow.

  3. In the Clear after section, select the duration of time, in hours and minutes, during which only the allowed apps will be available on the child's device.
  4. Tap the + button next to each app you want to allow. All other apps will be restricted.
  5. Tap Apply in the upper-right corner.

The Allowed apps settings are applied to the child's device. A countdown timer displays in the Allowed apps section with the time remaining for the settings.

If a child's device is offline, the settings will be applied the next time the device is online.

To clear Allowed apps settings before the configured time is over, tap the button next to the apps you want to remove or tap Clear all to remove all applied allowed apps at once.
