Single App Mode allows you to configure a device for a specific purpose. Using Single App Mode lets you lock any supervised iPad, iPhone, or Apple TV to one app to focus the device for a single need.
A feature of Single App Mode is that you can control how users interact with iPad and iPhone by enabling or disabling any of the following:
Screen auto-lock
Touch input
Screen rotation
Volume control
Sleep/wake button
Side switch
You cannot manually or automatically update an app while the app is in Single App Mode.
You cannot manually shut down or restart a device when it is in Single App Mode. You can still send a Shut Down Device or Restart Device command from Jamf Now to power off or restart the device.
For more information on these remote commands, see Remotely Restarting or Shutting Down Devices.
You cannot manually join Wi-Fi networks on a device when it is in Single App Mode.
