You can require a passcode for iPad and iPhone, and a login password for Mac for added security and data protection.

Note: Computers enforce the password requirements specified in the blueprint only when a password change is next attempted, or when the maximum passcode age expires if specified in the blueprint.
Requirements

Ensure the Prevent Changes to Passcode restriction is disabled. If the restriction is enabled, the device will fail to allow a passcode to be set. After a passcode is set on a device, you can re-enable the restriction.

  1. Log in to Jamf Now.
  2. Click Blueprints and select a blueprint.
  3. Click on Security.
  4. Select the Require Passcode checkbox. The following options are also available:
    • Require Complex PasscodeComplex passcodes cannot contain repeated characters, or increasing or decreasing characters (such as 123 or ABC).
    • Require AlphanumericRequires the passcode to contain letters and not just numbers.
  5. After selecting passcode options, click Save Changes.
For more information, see Passcode Settings.
