An Apple School Manager account with tax status confirmed

You can check your organization's tax status under the Apps and Books tab in Apple School Manager. An established tax status is required to download a server location content token.

Note:

You must use a separate volume purchasing content token for different MDM servers.

Training Video

Watch the Volume Purchasing Setup with Jamf Now video to learn more about integrating with volume purchasing.

  1. Log in to Apple School Manager.
  2. Click on your account name in the lower-left corner, then choose Preferences from the pop-up menu.
  3. Click Payments and Billing.
  4. Under the Apps and Books tab, click Download next to the correct server location content token.

The token downloads to the Downloads folder on your computer.

Note:If the content token is not displayed, click Locations and check if you have Apple Business Essentials enabled. If you do, add a new location and return to Payments and Billing > Apps and Books. The content token should now be displayed.
  5. Log in to Jamf Now.
  6. Click Volume Purchasing.
  7. Select Apple School Manager and click Next.
  8. Drag and drop or click browse to select the content token you downloaded from Apple School Manager, and then click Next.
  9. Enter the Apple Account you use to sign in to Apple School Manager.
    Note:

The content token expires in a year, and you will need the same Apple Account to renew it. By entering your Apple Account now, we can help you retrieve your ID next year.

  10. Click Save.

Your content token will now upload to your Jamf Now account. After uploading is complete, you will see the code and the expiration date for your token.
