Managing Unenrolled Devices in Apple Business or Apple School Manager

Unenrolling a device from Jamf Now does not remove the device from Apple Business or Apple School Manager. If the device is still assigned to Jamf Now in either platform, it will automatically re-enroll in Jamf Now. Follow the steps below to prevent the device from re-enrolling.

  1. Log in to Apple Business or Apple School Manager, as applicable.
  2. Follow the steps to unassign the device.
    1. To unassign a device from Apple Business, see Assign, reassign or unassign devices in Apple Business.
    2. To unassign a device from Apple School Manager, see Assign, reassign, or unassign devices in Apple School Manager.
  3. In Jamf Now, select Auto-Enrollment > View Devices in the Apple Services section of the sidebar.
  4. Click Sync Devices.
  5. Ensure that the device serial number no longer displays in View Devices.
  6. Unenroll or refresh the device.
