Requirements

To enable Lost Mode, a mobile device must meet the following requirements.

  • Device is powered on.

  • Device is connected to the internet via cellular or Wi-Fi.

  • Device is supervised with iOS 9.3 or later.

  1. Log in to Jamf Now.
  2. Click on the mobile device you want to put in Lost Mode.
  3. Click on the Action pop-up menu (•••) in the top-right corner, and select "Enable Lost Mode".

  4. In the Enable Lost Mode on iPhone? panel, do the following:
    1. In the Message field, enter your message.
    2. (Optional) In the Phone Number (optional) field, enter the number.
    3. (Optional) In the Footnote (optional) field, enter the note.
    4. (Optional) In the Play a sound on the device (available on iOS 10.3 or later) check box, select to play a sound on the device.
      Note:The sound will play for about two minutes, gradually increasing in volume. If an iPhone has the silence switch enabled to vibrate, lost mode will only vibrate the device and not ring a sound.
    5. Click Enable.
Your selected mobile device will display your message and optional text.

Selected mobile devices will stay in Lost Mode until disabled in Jamf Now.
