Requirements

To enable Lost Mode, a mobile device must meet the following requirements.

  • Device is powered on.

  • Device is connected to the internet via cellular or Wi-Fi.

  • Device is supervised with iOS 9.3 or later.

  1. Log in to Jamf Now.
  2. Click on the mobile device you want to remove from Lost Mode.
  3. Click on the Action pop-up menu (•••) in the top-right corner, and select "Disable Lost Mode".
Lost Mode will be disabled the next time the selected mobile device connects to a known network. A message will be left for the user letting them know the device was in Lost Mode and was being tracked by your Jamf Now account.
Important:

If a non-cellular, passcode enabled device in Lost Mode shuts down, you must put the device in DFU mode to erase the device, and then re-enroll it in to Jamf Now. You may be able to avoid erasure by inserting a SIM card in to the device to provide cellular capabilities.
