If you use Automated Device Enrollment and want to supervise devices that were purchased outside of your Apple Business or Apple School Manager account, you can use Apple Configurator to enroll devices with Jamf Now. Apple Configurator is a free program from Apple that helps you configure devices.
To enroll an iPad or iPhone, Jamf recommends using Apple Configurator for iPhone. You can alternatively use Apple Configurator for Mac. For more information, see the Apple Configurator Guide for iPhone.
- To enroll a Mac, you must use Apple Configurator for iPhone. For more information, see the Apple Configurator Guide for Mac.Note:
To enroll a Mac, you must use Apple Configurator for iPhone which requires macOS 12.0.1 or later.
To enroll an Apple TV, you must use Apple Configurator for Mac and follow the process in Prepare Apple TV in Apple Configurator in the Apple Configurator User Guide.
