Deploying Wallpaper to an iPad or iPhone

Requirements
  • The iPad or iPhone must be supervised to receive wallpaper.

  • Image files must be a PNG or JPEG, and a maximum of 4MB.

    For recommended dimensions for wallpaper deployment, in the Browse Tech Specs by Product search field on the Manuals, Specs, and Downloads page from the Apple Support website, do the following:

    1. Enter display in the search field, and then click Search.

    2. In the Results section, click the required display.

    3. Scroll to the Display section to view the resolution and pixels per inch (ppi) specifications.

Note:

You can deploy wallpaper to a Mac using a Custom Profile. For more information, see Deploying Custom Profiles with Jamf Now.

  1. Log in to Jamf Now.
  2. Click Blueprints.
  3. Click Create New Blueprint.
  4. Add a name for the blueprint.
  5. (Optional) Add a description for the blueprint.
  6. Click the Wallpaper payload.
  7. Drag and drop your image file or click browse to choose a file to upload in both the Home Screen Wallpaper and Lock Screen Wallpaper fields.
  8. (Optional) To prevent a user from changing the wallpaper, also select "Prevent Changes to Wallpaper" from the Restrictions payload in the blueprint.
  9. Click Save Blueprint.
    Note:

    The first time you set the wallpaper on devices with iOS 16 or later or devices with iPadOS 17 or later, the wallpaper is applied to both the Lock Screen and Home Screen. After the initial wallpaper configuration, you can set the wallpaper on the Lock Screen and Home Screen separately.

The wallpaper is applied to the devices in scope of the blueprint.
