  1. Log in to Jamf Now.
  2. Click Apps.
  3. Click Add an App.
  4. Click App Installers, and then search for the app you want to add.
  5. Click Add.
  6. Deploy the app directly to a computer, or to multiple computers using a blueprint.

The app is deployed to the computer, or to all computers in the blueprint that meet the OS requirements.

To check the installation status of an app on a computer in Jamf Now, click Devices > the computer > Mac Apps.

  • A green "Installed" status means the app was successfully installed on the device from Jamf Now.

  • A black "Installed" status means the app was not installed by Jamf Now, but was already manually added to the device by the end user.

Note:

Jamf Now cannot uninstall Jamf Now App Installers apps from a Mac.

To manually uninstall a Jamf Now App Installers app, first ensure the following conditions are met in Jamf Now.

  • The app is not marked as Install Automatically in the blueprint. If it is marked with this deployment method, click Edit Apps to deselect the checkbox.

  • Under the device's Mac Apps tab, the app status displays as User-managed. If Admin-managed is displayed, click the Action pop-up menu (•••) and select Convert to User-managed.

After the conditions are met, the Mac user can remove the app from the Mac.
