Converting Previously Installed Apps from User Managed to Admin Managed

Previously installed apps remain user managed on enrolled devices in the following scenarios:

  • The end user installed the app from the App Store

  • A Mac app was installed on a device with macOS 10.15 or earlier

You can convert apps from user-managed to admin-managed on a single device.

Requirements

The app displays in the apps tab in your instance of Jamf Now.

  1. In the left menu, click Devices.
  2. Select the device.
  3. Select the iPad & iPhone Apps tab or the Mac Apps tab, as applicable.
  4. Locate the app you want to convert, then click the Action pop-up menu (...) to the right of app status.
    Note:

    The app status will be User-Managed.

  5. Click Convert to Admin-Managed.
