Jamf Now allows you to deploy settings for Wi-Fi networks to all of your users enrolled in Jamf Now. Jamf Now supports WEP, WPA, WPA2, and WPA3.

Important:(macOS only) The Wi-Fi network settings are only deployed to the local Mac user account that was used to enroll with Jamf Now. Other local Mac user accounts cannot receive the remote Wi-Fi network settings. For more information on Jamf Now Mac management, see Mac Management Considerations.
  1. Log in to Jamf Now.
  2. Click Blueprints, and then select the blueprint for which you would like to add or edit Wi-Fi network settings.
  3. Click Wi-Fi.

  4. Do one of the following:
    1. To add a Wi-Fi network, click Add a Wi-Fi Network or the Add a Wi-Fi Network (+) link.

    2. To edit details for an existing Wi-Fi network, click the Action pop-up menu (•••) next to that network and select "Edit".
      Warning:

      Before editing or removing network settings, Jamf recommends ensuring that the Wi-Fi Safelist setting (Restrictions > Wi-Fi Safelist) is disabled. This ensures MDM communication with Jamf Now is possible at all times throughout the workflow, even if a target device temporarily loses network access during the deployment. After the new network settings are successfully deployed, the Wi-Fi Safelist setting can be safely re-enabled.

  5. In the Wi-Fi network dialog, enter the name of the Wi-Fi network.
  6. Select the network security type from the pop-up menu.
  7. Enter the password for the network.
  8. Use the checkboxes to set your network options.
  9. Click Save Changes, and then click Create Wi-Fi Network.
  10. Click Update Wi-Fi Settings to deploy your Wi-Fi configuration.
Note:

Your network settings may result in the following scenarios:

  • Disabling MAC Address Randomization causes a privacy warning to display on user devices.

  • When a Wi-Fi network has the security set to None, and no Wi-Fi password is configured, a device will only automatically join the network if it has already connected to the network in the previous two weeks.
