Exchange Authentication Update

Microsoft has deprecated basic authentication for Exchange Online services in favor of the more secure OAuth 2.0 authentication protocol. For more information, see the Basic Authentication Deprecation in Exchange Online documentation from Microsoft. Due to this change, you must enable modern authentication (OAuth) in Jamf Now for Exchange email accounts.

Enabling modern authentication for Jamf Now managed mail accounts:
  1. Log in to Jamf Now.

  2. Click Blueprints, and then select the Blueprint in which you would like to edit email settings.

  3. Click the Email payload.

  4. Select the Use OAuth for Authentication checkbox.

  5. Click Save Changes.

Users need to re-enter their email address and password when prompted on their device. They should see a modern authentication window during the login process, which will allow for successful login.

For additional assistance, contact Jamf Now Support using the chat feature in the Jamf Now product or by emailing support@jamfnow.com.
