You can use Terminal or the Jamf Pro interface to remove the MDM profile and Jamf management framework from the test computer.
In order to re-enroll your test computer with your old MDM solution, the test computer's record must be deleted from the destination Jamf Pro instance, and then it must be re-assigned to your old MDM solution's Automated Device Enrollment token.
- Reset computers with Terminal:
- Assign the computer to your old MDM server in Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager.
- In Jamf Pro, send a Remove MDM Profile command to the computer.
- In Terminal, execute the following command to remove the Jamf management framework:
sudo jamf removeFramework
- Wait until the computer is showing as available to enroll into the source MDM using Automated Device Enrollment.
This may take up to 15 minutes.
- In Terminal, execute the following command:
sudo profiles renew -type enrollment
This command trigger a notification to install the MDM profile, click the notification and follow the prompts to re-enroll back with your old MDM solution.
- Reset computers with the Jamf Pro interface:
- Assign the computer to your old MDM server in Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager.
- Wait until the computer is showing as available to enroll into the source MDM using Automated Device Enrollment.
This may take up to 15 minutes.
- In Jamf Pro, send a Wipe Computer command to the computer.
- Set the computer up, it should re-enroll with your old MDM solution via Automated Device Enrollment.
The computer record is also deleted from the target Jamf Pro instance.
You can now assign the computer back to the destination MDM in Apple Business or Apple School Manager and retest your Jamf Migrate workflow.
