Upcoming Support Removal for macOS 12.x

Support for macOS 12.x will be removed from Jamf Connect in a future release. Jamf recommends updating to macOS 13.x or later to ensure continued support.

Changes and Improvements

  • You can now configure offline multifactor authentication (MFA) without integrating Jamf Connect with a cloud identity provider (IdP). This allows users to have an accessible MFA solution, increasing device security without the immediate need for an IdP integration.

  • The local login view for the Jamf Connect login window now uses an animation to indicate when multiple local user profiles are available to access the computer.

Resolved Issues

  • [PI119448] The Jamf Connect login window no longer presents the following error message when using the Powered by Jamf Connect button to generate a log file: "Failed to collect logs: Process exited with status 1: klist: Cache not found".

  • [PI119511] The Jamf Connect login window no longer presents the following error message after restarting the computer when remote management is complete: "Wi-Fi networks are currently unavailable".

  • [PI119826] Users with Jamf Connect login window configurations that use Okta Classic Engine as the identity provider will no longer experience the deletion of Touch ID and login keychain credentials after resetting their expired password.

  • [PI120202] Jamf Connect is now able to mount drives when the file path contains special characters.

  • [PI120599] At the login window, users are no longer prompted to validate their passwords during every login and are only prompted when Jamf Connect detects the password is out-of-sync.

  • [PI121140] The Jamf Connect Configuration app no longer presents the following error message after administrators test their FIDO2 authentication configuration using the Test > FIDO2 option: "Safari can't open the page https://127.0.0.1/jamfconnect?code...".

  • [PI121577] The Jamf Connect menu bar app no longer crashes after a network change occurs.

  • [CON-5277] Computers with the Jamf Connect login window no longer fail to obtain a network connection while connected to Ethernet with an 802.1x device certificate. Additionally, new messaging informs the user of the network connection's current state.

  • [CON-5376] The Jamf Connect menu bar no longer automatically enters the current user's information in the authentication window when the Verify User Promotion (VerifyUserPromotion) setting is in use.
