Changes and Improvements

  • The new URL Scheme and Command Line Elevation (URLCommandLineElevation) key prevents unsanctioned privilege elevation. Elevation from the command line interface and URL schemes is only possible when the key is set to true. This setting is available for the Jamf Connect menu bar app and can be configured in Jamf Connect Configuration.

  • The User Promotion Role (UserPromotionRole) setting now uses the role with the highest duration value, rather than the first role without regard for the duration.

  • Users no longer have unintended access to the privilege elevation feature if role-based elevation is configured using the User Promotion Role (UserPromotionRole) setting and the Admin Attribute (OIDCAdminAttribute) setting is not configured.

Resolved Issues

  • [PI116170] The Jamf Connect login window now informs users that their account is locked after multiple failures to enter the correct password on computers without FileVault encryption.
  • [PI117370] Configurations of the Jamf Connect menu bar app with Kerberos no longer experience password expiration timers not resetting after a user successfully changes their password.

  • [PI117523] The privilege elevation feature no longer opens the Okta landing page after Jamf Connect authenticates users, when Okta is the identity provider.

  • [PI117524] Jamf Connect will now notify users when a privilege elevation denial occurs due to local time tampering.

  • [PI117627] Creating a user via the Jamf Connect login window with Okta Identity Engine as the identity provider no longer causes the user to have a NetworkUser attribute without a domain.
  • [PI117674] The ZIP file from the Collect logs button now includes the com.jamf.connect.actions and com.jamf.connect.shares domains.

  • [PI117675] The Jamf Connect menu bar app no longer crashes unexpectedly after applying a configuration profile with Actions preferences via the com.jamf.connect.actions domain.
  • [PI117697] Certain configurations no longer cause issues between Jamf Connect features and the Elgato Stream Deck's buttons.
