After creating an authentication configuration with Jamf Connect, the integration can be tested via the Jamf Connect Configuration app to verify if users can successfully log in or if issues may be present.
Access to the Jamf Connect Configuration application

Credentials for a user assigned to your Jamf Connect application in Okta
- Open the Jamf Connect Configuration application, located in the Jamf Connect DMG file.
- Click the + icon to create a new configuration.
- In the Identity provider tab, select the following settings:
- Identity Provider: Okta Identity Engine
- Tenant: Your Okta tenant, such as example.okta.com.
- OIDC client ID: The Client ID value located in the General tab of your Jamf Connect application in Okta.
- Confirm the Tenant ID (
OIDCTenant) and the Discovery URL (OIDCDiscoveryURL) settings are in the com.jamf.connect configuration file. - Click Test.
- Select Okta OIE.
- Enter the credentials for a user who is assigned to your Jamf Connect application in Okta.
A successful authentication will produce the following message: "Success. Your configuration seems to be working". An unsuccessful authentication will produce an error with details for troubleshooting.
Testing with multi-factor authentication may cause your login to stall and the computer cursor will change to a spinning ball icon. To resolve this issue, navigate to your Okta Admin Console and click Applications. Select your Jamf Connect application and click View logs to monitor if the login was successful or not.
