Jamf Auto Update is a cloud-based service that integrates with Jamf Pro to provide fully automated application packaging, deployment, and lifecycle management of over 1,000 titles on managed Mac computers, without the need for manual packaging, uploading, or ongoing Jamf Pro administration. Jamf Auto Update delivers an app store update experience to third-party applications outside of the Mac App Store with minimal configuration required by Jamf Pro administrators.
Jamf updates installed titles on managed devices in accordance with policies that you configure in Jamf Pro. Additionally, updates occur at the following times:
For pending items, at login or on a randomized hourly schedule after login
When initiated manually in the Jamf Auto Update application
Note:The Jamf Auto Update service does not include reuse of
components across multiple Jamf Pro instances. To deploy Jamf Auto Update to
additional Jamf Pro instances, contact Jamf Support.
