The ability to create and edit environments is based on the products you have purchased and your region. While everyone can view platform environments and edit environment names and labels, you may be unable to create custom environments. If you need to make changes to your platform environments, contact Jamf Support.
Note:If you intend to create a platform environment for use with AI Governance, you must create a custom role with AI Governance privileges enabled. For more information, see Requirements in the AI Governance Configuration Guide.
- Log in to the Jamf Account portal.
- Click Platform environments.
- Click Create platform environment.
- Enter a name for your environment.
- Choose your platform environment type from the pop-up menu.
- Select the tenants you want to include in your environment.
Important:You cannot remove grouped tenants from a platform environment. If you are unsure of the implications of grouping your tenants, contact Jamf Support before continuing.
Each platform environment must contain a single mobile device management (MDM) solution, such as Jamf Pro or Jamf School, and can also contain one tenant of each other Jamf product. All tenants in a platform environment must be in the same region. If these conditions are not met, Jamf will be unable to determine the platform environment's region, which will prevent the environment from displaying in features, such as API integrations. Manually created environments may take up to 15 minutes to display in features.
- Click Create.
You can edit custom platform environments to rename the environment, change its type, or add additional tenants.
