  • Jamf Pro is a web app that can be hosted in Jamf Cloud or on-premise.

  • The Jamf Pro Dashboard is a single page that provides critical status information, including:

    • Number of enrolled devices

    • Count of devices in smart groups

    • Policy statuses

    • Configuration profile distribution statuses

    • Patch management statuses and reports

  • The Jamf Pro Dashboard can be customized by each user to display important management details.

  • The sidebar contains four primary sections:

    • The Computers section is used to view inventory records and deploy policies, configuration profiles, and more to computers.

    • The Devices section is used to view inventory records and manage mobile devices like iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Apple Vision Pro, and Apple Watch.

    • The Users section is unique to user-based volume app and book distribution.

    • The Settings section provides options for customizing the server, organizing devices, and integrating services.

  • Notifications display alerts from your Jamf Pro server, and can be customized in Account settings.

  • Account settings contains user-specific configuration options, including:

    • Notification settings

    • Account preferences

    • Account password changes

  • The Resource Center contains useful information and links for learning more about Jamf Pro, connecting with the Apple administrator community, and finding technical help.

  1. Version information and enrolled device counts can be found on the Jamf Pro Dashboard.

Practice

  1. Log in to Jamf Pro.

  2. Navigate to Computers > Search Inventory.

  3. Navigate to Account Preferences > Search Preferences and select "Contains" in the Computers pop-up menu.

  4. From the Jamf Pro Dashboard, click the Resource Center icon and visit the Jamf Learning Hub.
