Key points
-
Policies are a powerful management tool for Mac computers enrolled in Jamf Pro.
-
Policies allow for the deployment of packages, software updates, scripts, printers, local accounts, and more.
-
All policies require a configured General payload containing the policy name, execution frequency, and a trigger.
-
The Local Accounts payload of a policy is used to create and delete local accounts, as well as reset local account passwords.
-
Multiple accounts can be created within a single Local Accounts payload using the Add (+) button in the top right.
-
-
The Maintenance payload is used to perform various maintenance tasks on enrolled Mac computers, including:
-
Update inventory
-
Reset computer names
-
Flush caches
-
-
Use caution when adding an inventory update to a policy that runs frequently as this is a resource-intensive task.
