If Jamf Pro experiences unexpected downtime, all ADT messages are paused. Once your Jamf Pro connection is re-established and the device checks in, ADT messages are delivered.
If you experience unexpected Jamf Pro downtime, it is important to review Jamf Pro and Jamf Healthcare Listener logs after Jamf Pro is accessible to ensure that messages queued by Healthcare Listener during downtime were successfully delivered, and all MDM actions have completed on devices. If necessary, work with your EMR Interface Team to understand which messages were delivered during downtime, and contact Jamf Support for help.
If your organization wishes to add additional safeguards by pausing ADT messaging during planned downtime, Jamf recommends the following:
After Jamf Pro is updated, you can re-enable Healthcare Listener, and inform your Interface Team that the connection has been re-established, and to re-open outbound ADT messages.
Important:Devices will not auto-wipe when Jamf Pro and Healthcare Listener are down. Ensure your frontline care teams are prepped to manually erase patient use devices throughout the downtime period (on iPad: ).
Jamf Premium Cloud provides the option for customers to schedule their own maintenance windows, so consider this for greater flexibility when planning for downtime.
Each Interface Team has different requirements; you will need to work with your team to understand the options in your environment.
