You can use blueprints to configure and deploy apps to devices in your environment.

Requirements

  • A volume purchase token configured in Elevate

    Important:

    Keep the following in mind when configuring a volume purchase token.

    • Do not upload your volume purchase token to both Elevate and another Jamf solution, such as Jamf Pro. If you do, apps will not deploy properly.

    • Currently, only one volume purchase token can be uploaded and configured. After uploading, the token cannot be edited or removed, but can be renewed using the Renew VPP Token button in Settings. For more information on volume purchase tokens, see Manage content tokens in Apple Business from Apple.

  • Computers with macOS 26 or later
  • Mobile devices with iOS 17.2 or later or iPadOS 17.2 or later
  • Apple Vision Pro devices with visionOS 2.4 or later
  1. Click Blueprints in the sidebar.
  2. Click Create blueprint in the upper-right corner.
  3. Replace the variable Untitled blueprint with a name for the blueprint.
  4. Replace the variable Describe what this blueprint is used for. with a description of the blueprint.
  5. Enter the name of an app in the Search field.
  6. Drag and drop any of the available apps in the Components library on the left to the section on the right.
  7. Click on the app component to configure additional settings (e.g., update method).
  8. After configuring additional settings, click Save.
  9. Click the Scope card to configure the scope.
  10. Select the checkbox next to the groups you want to scope the app to. You can filter device groups based on group type using the Smart and Static tabs or by group name by entering a group name in the Search field.
    Note:

    If devices are added to a group after an app has been deployed, the new devices will automatically receive the app the next time they check in.

  11. Click Save.
  12. Click Deploy to deploy the app to the configured device groups.
